EARTH DAY
The
earth day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. Worldwide, various events
are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated
in 1970, earth day is celebrated in more than 193 countries globally
In
our school, for earth day, we did a lot. In the morning time, senior kids from
the YES club, were sent to the grades to show a presentation. In the
presentation they showed the importance of planting trees, disadvantages for
cutting down trees etc.
In
the evening there was a special meeting organized by YES club. All the students
came for the meeting and they came prepared to plant some trees in the school
yards. The YES club executive gave a marvelous speech, about what we are going
to do after growing the plants. After the speech there was a beautiful dance,
from the whole YES club.
After
the dance the children went to different yards of the school. All the grades
grew different types of plants, for example, grade 7 grew tomato, grade 2 grew
beans etc. our class grade 6 grew copy leaves, in front of the AV room. After
the planting earth day program came to an end.
